FAITH AND BELIEFS

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible, and in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by Whom all things were made; Who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, Who spoke by the prophets. And we believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

• We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
• We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 4: 15, 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), His Resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), His Ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).
• We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
• We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the sinfulness of human nature, and that men and women are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16–19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5).
• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation (John 5:28–29).
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, Galatians 3:26–28).
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19–20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18).
• We believe the standards of a godly life are accurately summarized in the Ten Commandments and the Fruits of the Spirit (Exodus 20:2-17, Deuteronomy 5: 6-21, Galatians 5: 22-23)
• We believe that God calls all people to honesty and integrity in their relationships and financial practices (Exodus 20:2-17, Deuteronomy 5: 6-21, Proverbs 11:1, Proverbs 20:23).
• We believe that God has determined the moral standards for marriage and sexuality and has revealed them in His scriptures out of loving kindness to His children, that we might know how best to walk in the joy of righteousness, (Genesis 2:18–25,1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2–5; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:3).
• We believe that God has created humanity in His own image, full of transcendent value. Our identity is, therefore, centered in God and submissive to His design. Every person’s characteristics and talents are given and knit into them by the Creator. Our best lives are lived in submission to our all-knowing and benevolent God. (Genesis 1:26–27, Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah 29:11).
